Hands touching circle global network connection, Omni Channel orIn the course of a business day, you record, store, and transmit a massive amount of sensitive data. You obviously want to keep it secure but at the same time, you need to be able to conveniently access it from multiple locations.  In some cases, you also need your employees to be able to access the network remotely so they can stay productive when they are not in the office.

A Virtual Private Network (VPN) will often be the perfect solution.  Here are some of the benefits:

Secure connections to transmit sensitive information. When you use a VPN, the connection between the device you’re using and the network is more secure. This means, in most cases, hackers can’t intercept any data transmitted from one device to another on this network.

Access your network remotely. For many businesses, this is a huge benefit.  You can access your network when you are out of the office.  Since a VPN is, by name, a virtual network, you can access it from any location in the world using an approved device. Employees can stay connected, access files, and stay productive while they are on the road or out of the office.  As the business owner, you can access necessary information at any time.

Do you have multiple locations? If your business has more than one office or location, then a VPN is a great way to link all of the locations into one network so everyone has access to important information, databases, and files.

Role-based user access. A VPN allows you to restrict data flow on a per-user basis. All employees don’t need to access all information on the network, do they? In most cases, managers find it very beneficial to restrict access on a need-to-know basis. For example, the average employee doesn’t need access to your personnel files. A VPN would allow you to restrict access to those files, only allowing the human resources department to utilize them. Reduced exposure means fewer opportunities for a mishap.
