Curious informationAre you ready for another Windows upgrade? On July 29, Microsoft will release Windows 10, which is said to combine the best features of Windows 8 with some cutting-edge advancements, along with the return of a popular classic feature.

Here’s what you need to know about Windows 10:

The start menu will return. The deletion of the start menu sparked the biggest customer complaints about Windows 8. Microsoft heard you, and is bringing back the classic start menu with Windows 10.

Greater flexibility. With Windows 10, you can organize your desktop to suit your needs, even create virtual desktops when you need more space. Snap up to four apps into place, and easily view all open apps at once.

Improved accessibility. Windows 10 will work across all of your compatible devices, offering you a seamless experience no matter how you live and work. For example, if you viewed an article on your tablet yesterday, and you need to access it from your desktop today, simply ask Cortana to locate it for you.

Meet Cortana! Cortana is your personalized digital assistant. If you have a question, just ask! It’s similar to common smart phone assistants such as Siri, but it works on both your desktop and any other Windows 10 devices. In fact, your Cortana will remember activity on all of your devices, deliver reminders about important events, and “learn” your habits over time.

Windows Edge will change the way you surf the internet. The new browser allows you to write notes directly on web pages and share them with friends or coworkers, experience distraction-free viewing, and save your favorite webpages so that you can access them later. Windows Edge also works hand-in-hand with Cortana, so that you can receive important updates without leaving the page you’re on.

It’s free. Microsoft is making Windows 10 free to current subscribers of Windows 7 or Windows 8.1. For more information or help with your upgrade, please give us a call.
